Mission Statement

PeaceJam is an international education program built around the lives and accomplishments of twelve Nobel Peace Laureates who work personally with youth to pass on the spirit, skills and wisdom they embody. The mission of PeaceJam is to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates.

Description

PeaceJam is available to all schools, youth serving agencies, or faith-based institutions who serve youth ages 5-25, through 6 unique curricular programs.
The PeaceJam curriculum is mediated by an adult who acts as sponsor and participates in training on the PeaceJam curriculum.
Since its inception in 2001 Great Lakes PeaceJam has worked with thousands of young people through its various school-based, community-based, and faith-based, and juvenile justice programs, and has brought Nobel Peace Laureates to Kalamazoo from 2002-12, and in the spring of 2016, 2017 and 2019
