Virtual Opportunity
This is a volunteer opportunity with Unity Bands Inc., an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit project supporting healthcare heroes and at-risk communities during the pandemic. We are looking for someone organized with a heart for COVID-19 response and healthcare workers, and embracing our core values. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn how a nonprofit project plans and operates to support a community need. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: Creating forms and automatic routing tools Integrating website solutions with Stripe, contact lists, and calendars Working with Unity Bands leadership to identify application requirements and develop solutions that are easy to use by our audience. Experience with GoHighLevel and Blue Host recommended but not required. Why are we doing this? The underpaid but essential health care workforce in America comprises nearly 7 million people in low-paid health jobs including health care support workers, direct care workers, and health care service workers. According to Brookings, over 80% of health care support, service, and direct care workers are women and are also disproportionately people of color. Charitable dollars from the community typically wane within the initial three to six months after a disaster ( issuelab.org). In the case of COVID-19, media attention has shifted to other topics. Spreading awareness about the challenges healthcare workers are facing and the community support are two ways Unity Bands can help right now based on a recent survey conducted. "Continue supporting us. Just the little things that bring a smile and can make things better," said one healthcare worker.
