Mission Statement

Project U.N.I.T.Y's mission is to eradicate the stigma placed on youth living in NYC Housing Developments (N.Y.C.H.A.) by involving them in life skills, academic enrichment and community service activities along with a competitive basketball program. We believe these efforts will cut the school to prison pipeline by forming a unified group of young people from various developments across the city, and by engaging them in positive and productive interactions with their peers.

Description

Our organization will be running a basketball league from June through September that includes youth from all five boroughs. In our off seasons we will be running various programs that will Teach,Motivate, and give Structure to each of our youth. The programs that will be conducted in the off season will include mentoring, tutoring , cooking , photography , investment classes, support groups and more.

This is a great Organization to be a part of. It has vision, drive and passion for all that it stands for. Volunteering for Project Unity allowed me to show that same love drive and passion for the youth. While working with the youth, there's room for our own ideas. The Director is open to new ideas and passionate team players. I recommend volunteering for Project Unity. Queen C.
