That is why here at Heartland Hospice, we are lookin g for veterans who would be willing to join our volunteer team for our Veteran-to-Veteran Program. As a volunteer , you will be connected to one of our wonderful patients who has served our country in YOUR area to visit and provide companionship in their home or facility. Some ways you can do that is: Holding their hand Share a story Listen to their story Read a book, newspaper, magazine There is no experience needed. We will provide all the training you need at no cost to you. Heartland Hospice is always looking for compassionate people to join our volunteer team to provide companionship, support and friendship to our patients and their families. We are looking for people who are certified as a Reiki Practitioner to provide additional support by performing Reiki to their head, neck, shoulders, arms and below the groin. Our goal is to promote a reduction in anxiety, muscle tension or pain for our patients. Visits may occur in the patient's home or in a professional care setting. You must be 18 years or older, be certified as a Level I, Level II or Level III (Master) Reiki Practitioner and have at least 1 year active, certified expereince. All our volunteers will also need to go through Background Check, Fingerprint screening, Drug Screening, TB Testing and Volunteer Orientation/Training. All at no cost to you!
