Mission Statement: Volunteers working in the Tucson community to help those in need.

Description

Assistance League (r) of Tucson is a nonpolitical, nonsectarian, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit corporation that is managed and staffed by volunteers who are dedicated to working to improve the lives of those in need in the Tucson area. Our more than 330 members donate over 40,000 hours annually serving our community through our philanthropic programs. Based on the U.S. Department of Labor’s value of volunteer hours, that translates to a contribution of more than a million dollars during our most recent fiscal year.

Assistance League of Tucson’s programs are funded by sales from our thrift shop and by grants, gifts, and donations. All our revenues remain in the Tucson area and are used solely to support our local philanthropic endeavors. Through our programs, our member volunteers help those in need find better, more meaningful lives by addressing the physical and emotional needs of children and adults of all ages, regardless of race or creed.

I love working with these fun, caring people doing things that make a real difference in our community. The schedule is flexible, so I can sign up when I have the time. There are many different tasks available to fit my personality and skillset, and others are willing to bring you up to speed. It is a safe, welcoming environment. Give it a try!

I volunteer in the Online Store for Assistance League. It has given me a chance to pay forward to my community. I work with like minded great people who also want to make a difference. You can set your own hours which make it even better. It is great fun while doing something kind for someone else. Give them a try!
