Eco-School Network is planning our annual fundraiser, called Ode to Oregon, to celebrate the students and parents working as changemakers in Oregon schools and communities and to ensure that they have opportunities to develop the values and skills to keep stewardship thriving in Oregon. Our studetns and parents are leading hundreds of fabulous projects to make their schools and communities greener and healthier: gardens, tiny forests, walk and bike programs, climate action, waste reduction, and more. As part of our appeal at the event, we would like help creating a short (2-3 minute) simple video. We need a videographer/ producer to create this short video with background music. There is one i-person visit required: the videographer will visit a school in Portland where students have been studying the state of Oregon all year long and taking action. This will be shown at the event right before we invite people to donate, so we want them to have feelings of being proud of Oregon/ grateful for the nature we have, want them to understand that kids can make a difference, and want them to feel inspired to support us. We'd like to lead with joy and adventure, move into impact and action, and close with big-picture hope. We might have kids answer questions like this: If you could take someone on an adventure to show them the best of Oregon, where would you take them? Why? What do you love most about Oregon? or Why do you love Oregon? What’s one thing kids are doing to take care of Oregon? If you were in charge of Oregon for a day, what’s the first thing you would do to help nature? What do you wish grown-ups would do to help make Oregon even better? (This could be a great, direct call to action for donors!) What is your hope for Oregon’s future? We're looking for someone who has experience working with kids and someone who has created a motivational/ inspiring little video content before. We would love to work with you!

Event Planning Support for Our Nonprofit Fundraiser Party (June 6) Eco-School Network is a mighty crew of kids, parents, and teachers greening up Oregon schools with gardens, waste reduction, safer walking/biking routes, and student-led climate action. But we need fuel to keep this going. Our fuel? Funding! We’re hosting a fabulous fundraiser for 150 loyal supporters and donors on June 6, and we need your help to pull it off with flair. We’re a fun, grateful bunch-and here are some different ways you could plug in to lend a hand. Pick Your Role (or Propose One!): 1. Procurement Pro You know people, or you’re not afraid to cold-call them! Help us snag 5 amazing auction packages, like getaways to Oregon/Washington vacation homes, resorts, or hotels. We’ve got a list to start with-or go with your own ideas. 2. Marketing Maestro Help us whip up a marketing plan that turns heads and fills seats. Help design a fabulous invitation, sprinkle in some social media stardust, and make this event irresistable! 3. Sponsorship Scout Got a knack for schmoozing? Help prep sponsorship packages, coordinate outreach to past supporters, and scout for new ones. Keep track of commitments and ensure sponsors feel the love. 4. AV Ace Slideshows, videos, music, and speakers-if you’re the person who makes tech happen seamlessly, we need you! 5. Volunteer Wrangler We’ll find the volunteers-you make them feel organized, supported, and appreciated. A smooth event starts with happy helpers. 5. Silent Auction/Raffle Manager Organize and oversee auction/raffle items, keep the bidding exciting, and ensure winners get their fabulous prizes. 7. Logistics Guru Be the mastermind behind event operations, from set-up to break-down. Keep everything running like clockwork so our guests only notice the fun (not the behind-the-scenes chaos). 8. Food & Drink Hero Whether it’s donating food, finding a caterer, whipping up a dish, or deciding on plates and napkins, your culinary contributions will help set the tone for the night. Yes, our venue allows outside food. 9. Bartender/Server Extraordinaire Mix drinks, serve up tasty bites, keep things tidy, and interact with guests to make them feel at home. Bonus points if you can juggle trays! 10. Day-of Dynamo On the big day, oversee vendors, troubleshoot issues, and keep the event humming along. Calm under pressure? You’re our hero. Got Your Own Idea? If you’ve got a passion for another part of event planning, pitch it to us! Why Volunteer? With just three paid staff, we rely on volunteers to engage tens of thousands of kids across Oregon in shaping a more sustainable future. Every dollar we raise helps empower students and make schools greener and healthier. Ready to Help? Send us a sentence or two about yourself and why you’re interested, along with your resume or a quick list of skills/projects that make you a great fit. We can’t wait to meet you-your superpowers are exactly what we need!
