Mission Statement

The Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped, Inc., has been established for the purpose of acting as the financial conduit for the Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix Festival proceeds.This charitable foundation is under the direction of eighteen highly qualified individuals from our community who will carefully screen applications for funding from various groups that work with handicapped individuals.The Foundation will abide by the following criteria in making charitable contributations to handicapped organizations:1) The applicant must be a bonafied organization that directly meets the health, developmental or educational needs of the handicapped.2) The applicants must have clearly defined objectives that will provide a measurable benefit to handicapped individuals.3) The applicants must present and maintain accounting records that properly represent their financial condition and will provide a Performa budget.4) The applicant must show that all contributions from the Foundation will be used directly for assisting the handicapped in our local community and not for the operating overhead.5) The Foundation will look very favorably upon those applicants who reach the greatest number of handicapped individuals with dollars contributed.6) The applicant selected must be willing to make a significant man hour commitment to assist with the fundraising and operational aspects of the Suncoast Offshore Festival.

Description

The Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped, Inc. holds an annual fund-raiser the Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix Festival. This is a 10-day festival which begins with a Golf Tournament and end with the Grand Prix Powerboat Races. All proceeds from the festival go to the Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped, Inc.
