GOT HISTORY INC

Description

We are a fairly new systems-change organization committed to catalyzing innovation in the field of history education. We empower students, parents, teachers and museum educators to become agents of change who work to ensure that learning history is experienced in a way that is inspiring and engaging for all. We build local learning ecosystems, conduct professional development and co-creation workshops for educators, and incubate youth advocacy through an award winning podcast (www.untextbooked.com) and youth movement (www.realhistorycouncil.org).

It is our core belief that if we do not fix how we teach history, we will fail to prepare young people to address the challenges of the future. We must find a new way to teach about the economy, so that we do not continue to destroy the planet. We must move away from monolithic narratives to inclusive ones, in which every can see themselves represented and that do not white-wash the past.

We were incubated out of Ashoka, the world's leading systems-change network, and are led by a visionary team of changemakers who believe that there is no system too broken to be fixed.
