KTs Kids strives to help children and youth with disabilities that come from the lowest socioeconomic communities in Chicago. We dedicate genuine care and support to these kids for whom life holds so many challenges.
Community Events for Children with Disabilities:
Each month, KT’s Kids provides field trip opportunities throughout the year. We have watched the Chicago Bulls, visited Siegel’s Pumpkin Farm, and climbed the wall at Maggie Daley Park.
C.A.M.P. (Children with Adapted Mobility Play) Schwab is the only free summer day camp for kids with disabilities in Cook County. We provide camp for almost forty kids, aged 7-18, including transportation, activities, and a closing picnic to celebrate. This summer we faced a brand new set of challenges due to Covid-19. With a lot of thought, effort, and a great community, we were able to pull off a (safely modified) summer camp for our kids! C.A.M.P. Schwab brings kids outside to play on their own terms, and that’s hugely empowering.
Each holiday season, we invite all of the children in households with kids being treated at Schwab Rehab to celebrate with us. At the Holiday Party, every child gets two gifts (one fun, one practical), and each family gets a $20 Target gift card. Last year we hosted over 600 kids.
