Mission Statement

We provide trail access and promote its use for adventure, health, stewardship, education and community prosperity. In these times, we often find ourselves separated from one another, alone behind a computer screen, secluded in a social media bubble or estranged by ideologies. Finding common ground between city and rural dweller, people of disparate economic means or even age, can be a struggle. At the same time, we find ourselves separated from nature. Locally, our access to nature is limited more and more by natural disasters and little to no federal budget for non-motorized trails. Yet, these are also times when we have learned about nature’s healing power, the benefits of outdoor activity and the real necessity for human connection. Mariposa Trails believes that through our sojourns in nature and stewardship of trails, we find that common ground. Our stewardship, education and adventure programs foster health and offer a fresh hope of restoration. They are also an invitation to build comradery with one another, while acknowledging nature is reciprocating with the gift of health and healing in people.
