The shift will begin at 2:15pm in Oakland on December 19th. Volunteers must drive to the food bank distribution site and then to the apartment complex. Wear closed-toe shoes. Please dress modestly and comfortably. Please do not bring valuables. We do not have a secure place for volunteers to leave their belongings. Door-to-door distribution Oakland, December 19th, 2:15pm - 5:30 p.m. Volunteers will help pre-bag food, and then distribute door to door. The shift will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Food Bank distribution site, where food will be packed and transported back to the apartment complex. Volunteers must drive to the food bank distribution site and then to the apartment complex. Wear closed-toe shoes. Please dress modestly and comfortably. Please do not bring valuables. We do not have a secure place for volunteers to leave their belongings. Volunteers will assist with lifting boxes and bags of food onto dollies, and loading it into the supervisor's vehicle. Volunteers may be asked to transport a few boxes of food in their vehicle to the apartment complex. Pantry-Style Food distribution Pleasant Hill, every 1st & 3rd Thursday, 8:30am - 1:30/2:00 p.m. Volunteers will help unload the food, and set up nicely in their community room. Residents of the apartment complex will then enter the community room and choose food to take home. Volunteers will assist with questions when possible, and potentially help bagging if requested by residents. Volunteers will assist with a few deliveries to residents with disabilities in the complex. Volunteers will help break down boxes and clean up the space.
