As a volunteer in our Cottage kitchen, you'll play a crucial role in preparing Sunday Lunchbox deliveries. From food dehydration and prep to snack packing and bag packaging, there's plenty of hands-on work to do - and plenty of fun to be had along the way! Looking to make an impact but groups aren't your thing? Driving for Sunday Lunchbox is the perfect opportunity for you! We are in need of a Friday delivery driver to pick up fresh produce from Farm Share in East Austin and deliver it to our Cottage in Anderson Mill (NW Austin). Your first shift will be shadowing a Sunday Lunchbox team member (so riding/driving with them to the location and then to the Cottage for delivery). Your attention to detail will make a real difference in ensuring everyone gets what they need. Prep and Sorting: wash and sort produce, organizing it into bins for subsequent order packing by volunteers on other shifts. Online Store Updates: Assist in updating our online store to reflect the available offerings for our families. By keeping our inventory up-to-date, you'll help streamline the ordering process and make it easier for families to access the food they need.
