Donated meals provide an invaluable service to our families; allowing them to rest and rejuvenate their bodies and minds during this stressful time. A well balanced prepared meal takes one worry away from our families staying at the Hospitality Center, where the Ronald McDonald House and Walden House are co-located. Rather than spending time purchasing food and fixing a meal, they can concentrate on supporting and comforting their critically ill or injured child / family member. Please consider supporting a local restaurant and the families at the Kootenai Hospitality Center by signing up to have dinner delivered straight to our door! https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=CTND8931&v=f76f15ee1f Your Volunteer Group Due to current COVID-19 guidelines the recommended group size for this activity is 4 people at this time. All children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult and must not be left unattended in the House. RMHC does not allow children under the age of 14 years old to participate in the Meal Program at this time. Meal Preparation and Clean Up Times Dinner: 20-30 Servings Arrive between 4:00-5:00pm, allowing your group as much time as needed to prepare the meal Serve at 6:00pm Clean-up and put away leftovers beginning at 7:00pm Most meal program groups are onsite from 4:30-7:30pm. What We Provide We have a large variety of cooking utensils, dishes, cups, bake-ware, crock pots, along with four ovens with stove tops in our kitchens, and two grills on the back patios. Our kitchen is also stocked with staples including flour, sugar, cooking oil, spices, etc. You are welcome to use these items to prepare and serve your meal. What To Bring Please bring all ingredients needed to create a well-balanced meal as well as necessary condiments, seasonings, toppings, etc. Remember to bring a hair tie as long hair must be tied up while preparing and serving food. Although not a requirement of meal program volunteers, serving beverages and dessert are greatly appreciated. What to Expect at Delivery / Upon Your Arrival: Once you arrive to our 2300 N Ironwood Place location, please ring the front door bell and our staff will come out to greet you. Once inside, please sign in at the front desk; every visitor is asked to present their driver's license in order to create a visitor's badge and let us know if this if your first time. We would love to give you a tour of the House. We invite you to eat and visit with our families during the meal and ask you help with the kitchen clean up after it has been served. Questions, Changes, or Cancellations: In the event your group needs to cancel or change your meal, please give us as much notice as possible so we can make alternate arrangements. To protect our families, please reschedule your meal if you have COVID-19 or flu symptoms since many of the individuals staying with us have compromised immune systems.
