Mental Health America of Fredericksburg is our community's oldest nonprofit organization addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illness. Founded in 1955 by local citizens, MHAfred works to improve our community's mental health through advocacy, education and service. We work to identify gaps unmet by public and private mental health providers, as well as create and incubate programs tailored to meet those needs through collaborative efforts.

Current programs include: HELPLINE - Connecting those who need mental wellness resources with providers and support; TEEN SUICIDE PREVENTION - offering teen education and peer support to help overcome teen depression; SENIOR VISITORS - Provides trained volunteers to seniors who are isolated and lonely.
