Camp River Run provides a 4-day summer camp at Hidden Paradise, Idaho designed for kids between ages 7-17 who are coping with life threatening illness or disabling/ongoing medical conditions. We want these children to experience nature and camping without compromising their medical needs. Camp River Run is committed to provide excellent support and care for our campers. Camp River Run also provides five 1-day camps in the Treasure Valley to help introduce parents to the incredible impact camp will have for them and the kids and to break the ice. Trained and skilled health care personnel are present at all camps. Those entrusting their children or loved ones to the awesome camps offered by Camp River Run, deserve the peace of mind and comfort in knowing that those special campers are being cared for by the best. Our volunteer health care staff is licensed according to their relative field and has been selected in accordance to needs of our campers. All of our staff and volunteers are CPR and First Aid certified. Twenty-four hour availability of health care and coordination for our campers’ needs is provided during summer camp. In addition, we tailor our volunteer duties to the specific needs of each of our campers. Information will be gathered during the application process, as well as one on one visits with camper and parent(s)/guardian(s) regarding individual needs. Camp counselors will be trained in CPR/First Aid (if not already obtained) and be required to attend Training, and Meet and Greet (2-3 hours of mostly fun and little training) to meet their camper and introduce themselves to the camper and their parents or caretakers, and receive volunteer training. A background check is required (at the expense of Camp River Run). Must be 17, or older to attend as a counselor. This is an overnight camp. 4 days and 3 nights in Fairfield, ID. Counselors will ride a charter bus to camp with their camper. Day camps happen quarterly and volunteers are needed for each day camp as well. Day camps occur on a Saturday and run 10am-2pm. Primary: The Volunteer Director supervises volunteers and provides direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions for Camp River Run. To strengthen public or private programs, and involve a community of supporters as described in the duties outlined below. Job Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as appropriate.) Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization. Survey staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance Maintain volunteer job descriptions for each volunteer assignment Ensure volunteers are staffed to support the various areas of operations, to include, programs, finance and legal, events, development, and marketing/communications Conduct and/or arrange for volunteer orientation and training Schedule all volunteer activity Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service Organize and participate in volunteer recognition programs and special events Evaluate all aspects of volunteer programs to ensure effectiveness and to recommend/implement changes as appropriate Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation Host and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified candidates Work with Marketing to publicize opportunities for volunteers Develop and maintain relationships with other volunteer organizations within the area Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers Act as a single point of contact for communications Confer with volunteers to resolve grievances and promote cooperation and interest Facilitate distribution of information relevant to volunteers Author written communications such as letters, instructions, or other media, as appropriate Attend committee and board meetings as necessary Identify community outreach opportunities such as fairs, festivals, trade shows and organizations Maintain schedule of opportunities Work proactively with staff to provide accurate information and assistance to the volunteer Remain current in general office technology (CRM, Microsoft, Google, etc) Train volunteers to use office and specialized equipment when appropriate Send confirmation and reminders for upcoming tours

The Acquisitions Team is a volunteer director position and holds no voting privileges. Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and great organizational skills. Communication is key. Responsibilities: The Acquisition Team is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of partners and sponsors to increase donated goods (in-kind gifts for auctions, raffles, camp, etc.). Respond to internal and external donors, in person or via email and/or phone, in a timely manner to ensure superior donor relations. Work with Events Director, Executive Director, Camp Director, and team members, for event and camp needs of in-kind gifts. Track and record donations Ensure each donor gets a thank you card and receipt for their donation.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE BOARD AS A WHOLE The mission of Camp River Run is Inspired by nature and flowing with optimism, we offer children who are battling life-threatening or disabling medical conditions an outdoor camp experience to rejuvenate their youth and strengthen their spirits. As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for: Determining the mission and purposes of CRR Selecting and evaluating the performance of the Executive Director Strategic and organizational planning Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management Fundraising and resource development Approving and monitoring CRR programs and services Enhancing CRR’s public image Assessing its own performance as the governing body of Camp River Run Recruit and train new board members in partnership with the Executive Director EXPECTATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL BOARD MEMBERS Each individual board member is expected to: Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs Faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Camp River Run to advance its mission. Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve CRR’s mission Give a meaningful personal financial donation Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing. Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings Participate fully in one or more committees BOARD MEMBERS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO Follow CRR’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions Sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and update it during the year if necessary, as well as disclose potential conflicts before meetings and actual conflicts during meetings Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of Camp River Run. Board meetings are the second Tuesday of every month from 4pm to about 5:30pm. We are a working board, meaning for now, board members are very hands on. As we continue to grow, things will continue to evolve.

The Activities Team plans all activities and events for summer camp. We work closely with the Medical and Camp Directors to choose a theme for the day and put a program together that matches the theme, along with food, dressing up, games and outdoor fun!
