Volunteer to create winter blessings bags for children who need extra love at the holidays. Why: This project benefits children who are abused, neglected, abandoned, orphaned, developmentally-disabled or learning-disabled, homeless, runaways esp. those who are LGBTQIA, or children whose lives have been adversely impacted by HIV / AIDS and homeless adults. Volunteers will help a less fortunate or disadvantaged child or homeless adult feel that they are deserving and worthy of attention, care and celebration. And, enhance and strengthen their self-worth and dignity. Who: The mission of One Incredible Family is to serve the disenfranchised members of our global family, here in Los Angeles County, by producing holiday-themed community service projects, designed to teach volunteer activism on the grassroots level. These events bring the HOLIDAYS to those who may not otherwise celebrate such whether by intention, lack of means or circumstance due to homelessness, loneliness, despair, apathy, disabilities, poverty, lack of family, or perceived lack of deservedness. And, with you by our side ... We ARE Making A Difference ... One Heart At A Time. What to Expect: O.I.F. volunteers will assist in creating Winter "Blessing Bags". O.I.F. brings the holidays to those who may not otherwise celebrate such whether by intention, lack of means or circumstance due to homelessness, loneliness, despair, apathy, disabilities, poverty, lack of family, or perceived lack of deservedness. What's Required: Volunteers will fill holiday-themed bags with various items, such as socks, granola bars, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand-sanitizer, etc. Time Commitment: 3 hour (minimum) Requirements: No special skills or experience required except an open heart and playful spirit! Be a part of Yuletide Caroling With Our Senior "Family Members"! Why: O.I.F. volunteers will bring holiday cheer and raise the spirits of our Senior & Elderly "Family Members" by presenting a Yuletide caroling program. Who: The mission of One Incredible Family is to serve the disenfranchised members of our global family, here in Los Angeles County, by producing holiday-themed community service projects, designed to teach volunteer activism on the grassroots level. These events bring the HOLIDAYS to those who may not otherwise celebrate such whether by intention, lack of means or circumstance due to homelessness, loneliness, despair, apathy, disabilities, poverty, lack of family, or perceived lack of deservedness. And, with you by our side ... We ARE Making A Difference ... One Heart At A Time. What to Expect: There are two caroling opportunities: December 8th and 22nd. Volunteers will sing seasonal songs and yuletide carols, will shake sleigh bells and will interact with senior citizens. What's Required: No special skills or experience required. What To Bring ? An Open Heart, A Playful Spirit And A Desire To Be Of Service ! Please feel free to bring sleigh bells or other percussion with you !!
