Mission Statement
Chicago Austin Youth Travel Adventures (CAYTA) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit dedicated to opening the world of inner-city youth through local cultural immersions, careers in tourism, and our yearly birthright journey to Ghana, West Africa. We are driven by a simple mission, "to connect disenfranchised African American youth to their heritage through our travel and learn volunteerism program." We offer a host of support services and resources for career development, entrepreneurship, and community relations.
Description
CAYTA provides opportunities for at-risk youth to explore the world in a supportive learning environment. Our team encourages participants and their families to explore careers in the travel industry through relationship building and investigation of the world around them. Youth complete research projects, visit cultural and educational trade and college facilities. Participate in airline industry immersion programs at local airfields in the Chicagoland area.
