Healthy New Albany Chilly Chili One Mile Race Course Marshall

Volunteers are needed as Course Marshals for the Chilly Chili Mile. Cheer on participants as they pass and ensure their safety while on the course. Ensure no cars besides official vehicles enter the race course, unless a designated turn is allowed. Volunteers will be placed at a specific location along the course and remain at that location until the last participants have passed. Please be at your location on the map at 8:30am on Sunday. The race begins at 9:00 am sharp on Sunday, February 25, 2024. The start and end of the race is at the Heit Center, 150 W. Main St, New Albany, Ohio 43054 Packet pick-up is on Saturday, Feb. 24 between 9:00am - 1:00pm at the Heit Center, 150 W. Main St., New Albany. Packet pick-up is mandatory to receive items that you will need to be a Course Marshal. Thanks! Volunteer at the New Albany Food Pantry

Truck Unloading: Must be at least in 9th grade to sign up for truck unloadings. Please wear closed toe shoes/athletic shoes for your safety. No slides are allowed. A delivery of food will be arriving from Mid-Ohio Food Collective. We need volunteers to help unload the truck and carry items upstairs. Please note this requires some moderate to heavy lifting and taking items upstairs. Times: Every other Tuesday 2:30pm-4pm Every other Weds and Thursdays 9:15am-11:15am Sorting and stocking: Pantry Sorting & Stocking Volunteers: Receive, weigh, and record incoming donations. Check expiration dates, inspect, discard damaged product(s), and sort incoming food items into categories and place in appropriate areas. Stock and organize items on pantry shelves. Quality check and replenish fresh produce. Sort fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and other items. Should be able to lift and carry approximately 25 lbs. (the weight of 2 cases of cans) upstairs and be on your feet for approximately 2-4 hours. Assist with other projects assigned by Pantry Manager.
