Description
The Guardians seek to develop leadership and personal growth for young adults ages 14 to 22. Established in 2013, Guardians has primarily operated as a organizational vessel for a sub-genre of competitive marching band called Drum and Bugle Corps. In its first two years of operation, it competed in a circuit called SoundSport sponsored by Drum Corps International["DCI"] before becoming a member of DCI's Open Class group of competing organizations. In 2016, the ensemble took their show to Indianapolis in order to compete in the Drum Corps International World Championship events, where it has been an Open Class(Top 10) finalist ever since. After the onset and nation-wide shutdown caused by COVID-19, Guardians was able to successfully restart the program in 2021 while maintaining a safe and healthy environment and performing at a limited offering of DCI performance events.
Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps is looking to expand through multiple avenues in the coming years. First, the organization is looking to move into other genres of performing arts, sports and recreation, as well as Esports. In addition to an expansion of services offered, Guardians is hoping to start moving toward finding a permanent home for their operation by way of a permanent office or commercial property for operation.
