Elara Caring Hospice is a leading care provider in Missouri and throughout the Midwest, our staff and volunteers work together to meet each patient where they are. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to join our team and donate time to assist local hospice patients and families. As a hairstylist you will donate time to wash, cut and/or style a hospice patient’s hair. In doing so your gift is more than just hair care. You will lift the spirits of those that are unable to get out of their homes to get their hair done. To someone that is unable to go to the salon, getting their hair done can be the best part of their week or month. Appointments will be made upon request and can be scheduled at a time that is convenient to the stylist. Proof of a current license is required prior to assignment. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to join our team and donate time to assist local hospice patients and families. As a companionship aid you will have direct contact with patients and their families. Volunteers are needed both in nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and patient homes. Volunteers will build relationships with patients by engaging them in conversation, listening to music, doing crafts, reading, or playing a game together. Sometimes a hand to hold is just enough. Caregivers occasionally need a break, and a volunteer can provide respite to allow the family member to attend to other needs. Hospice care is provided in patient homes, with family members, and in nursing facilities. Not interested in working one on one with a patient or family, we also have office volunteer hours available. We have plenty of administrative duties that need attention in our Dexter office location. From filing, putting away supplies, making binders, folders and phone calls we can always use an extra hand. Assignments are based on availability of the volunteer. We ask that you set aside 1-2 hours per week for visits or administrative duties. We also have additional opportunities available. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate VETERAN volunteers to join our team and donate time to assist local hospice patients and families. We are looking for Veterans to work directly with Veterans. As a Veteran volunteer you will have direct contact with patients and their families. Volunteers will build relationships with patients by engaging them in conversation, listening to music, doing crafts, reading, or playing a game together. As a veteran you may have knowledge of additional resources that can assist families. Caregivers occasionally need a break and a volunteer can provide respite to allow the family member to attend to other needs. Hospice care is provided in patient homes, with family members, and in nursing facilities, which ever you are most comfortable with. Elara Caring Hospice is also a level 4 WE HONOR VETERANS program. With this program we honor our veterans with a special pinning ceremony, and we would love to have veterans be a part of this presentation. Assignments are based on availability of the volunteer. As an office volunteer you will have indirect contact with patients and their families. Volunteers will make copies, binders, filing, stocking supplies for patients (no heavy lifting), making phone calls to patients and facilities (if needed), working on by your side kits and helping with other various tasks in the office. We ask that you set aside 1-2 hours per week for office work and phone calls. We also have additional opportunities available.
