I came to The Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach on May 27, 2025, and was nearly hit by a reversing car in the parking lot. When I calmly informed the driver, she became hostile. I reported it to a volunteer, who then got in my face and threatened me, instead of helping. As an autistic and legally disabled person, I was shocked by the response. The supervisor on duty refused to intervene—even when someone in line verbally threatened to attack me. Meanwhile, the woman who nearly hit me continued harassing and slandering me inside with no consequences. I filed a formal complaint. I was later told the volunteer was terminated and my case was escalated. But it never should’ve happened to begin with. If you're disabled or vulnerable, be cautious. There’s no excuse for allowing abuse or ignoring threats in a place meant to help people.
