Mission Statement

Metas Program strives to provide free and inclusive academic enrichment opportunities for all preschool to 12th grade students in the Contra Costa County area. Our program offers academic tutoring, mentoring, and classes that focus on student success skill-building as well as college, major, and career exploration. We aspire to instill positive self-esteem and a growth mindset in all our students so that they all can successfully complete college and meet their career and personal life goals.

Description

Metas is a community program driven by students, parents, alumni, and mentors united around a common goal of making college a reality for the youth in our community. Our objective is to foster a college-going environment through tutoring, mentoring, career exploration, and leadership development.

Metas prepares preschool through 12th-grade students in the communities surrounding Contra Costa College to meet the demands of higher education. We work collaboratively with students to increase their proficiency in reading, writing and math, along with their self-confidence and self-perception. Through the support of Metas, 100% of our 12th grade students graduate high school and go on to enroll in college.

Metas is a free program. All of our services are offered free of cost to students and families.
