Glenside Fire Company No. 1 is a volunteer organization committed to protecting the lives and property of our community through proactive planning, professional training and sustaining community involvement.
Glenside Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization consisting of around 45 active firefighters. We have served the Glenside, Wyncote, Laverock, and surrounding communities for over 120 years. We respond to house fires, vehicle fires, vehicle accidents, brush fires, residential rescues, water rescues, and just about any other type of emergency. When our neighbors need us, we’re there to help them in their greatest time of need. This is why we need you to help us continue our mission. Volunteer firefighting looks great on college applications and resumes and the feeling that comes with helping others is immeasurable. When you join Glenside Fire Company, you’re not just joining an organization, but rather, it’s more like having a second family.
