Join Project Worthmore to make a difference in the community! Our Food Packaging shifts are a hands-on way to get involved in your community while helping refugees from all over the world. Not only do we repurpose fresh fruits and veggies that would otherwise be wasted, we also address food insecurity in the Denver area and support over 200 refugee families in need each week. Spending just 1-2 hours to unload, sort, and package bags of fresh vegetables and fruit allows us to distribute over a thousand pounds of culturally-relevant food weekly to help families as they settle in Denver as their new home. We follow the most up-to-date COVID protocols. Email marlene@projectworthmore.org to volunteer.

English language acquisition is crucial to building a new life in America! You can make a big difference by working with our refugee students as they study English. Each class, taught by teachers from the Emily Griffith School, is tailor made to meet students where they are and give them the skills they need to move forward in their language learning. Volunteers assist the classroom teacher by working one-on-one or leading small break out groups with students who need extra help mastering specific skills. We ask our volunteers to commit to one class per week for a minimum of 6 weeks. This class runs from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. on Mondays. We also have classes on other days. We require a background check for this volunteer position as well as encourage training. Volunteers should attend a training class called Beyond Babble. Learn more about the training at: https://projectworthmore.org/volunteer/ We are following standard COVID protocols. All volunteers and teachers are required to wear masks during class time. Please email marlene@projectworthmore.org to express your interest.

Project Worthmore was founded to help refugees who have fled persecution, war and violence to build new lives here in Colorado. From community navigators who help newcomers access services, schools and jobs to a sustainable community farm to a state-of-the-art dental clinic, Project Worthmore empowers refugees to integrate, thrive and give back to their communities. Project Worthmore is making every effort to ensure that the metro-Denver area refugee community has fresh produce. Help bag and deliver fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, and household necessities to refugees in Denver and Aurora. We are actively looking to fill volunteer spots on most Monday mornings. To find available dates and time slots, view our website at: https://projectworthmore.org/yu-meh-food-share/. Email marlene@projectworthmore.org with questions. Your two hour volunteer time can make a difference in a refugee's life.
