Description

The Temple Grandin Equine Center located at the CSU Spur Campus in Denver provides Equine Assisted Services (Physical and Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Riding and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy). We serve ages 18 months to 99 years old with many diagnoses such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Genetic Anomalies just to name a few. We rely heavily on volunteers that work closely with our therapists to help provide a safe appointment while working with our horses.

We have recently moved into our new, state-of-the-art facility near the intersection of I-70 and I-25, in the Vida building. We house up 15 horses and see around 100 clients per week. We are a research facility, conducting studies regarding the use of horses in a therapy setting, a free education facility and a treatment facility.

This is a fun, fulfilling, and rewarding volunteer opportunity that can qualify for student volunteer hours, church volunteer groups or a happy, fulfilling retirement.

We would like to invite you to participate in a volunteer orientation. We host orientations often at 4817 National Western Dr. Denver, CO 80216. For information on upcoming orientations, please contact volunteertgec@colostate.edu
