Description
Care Package Inbound, Inc. (CPI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2019 with the purpose of delivering hope to all people through compassion, support, and love for the foster community. We focus our programs on supporting the foster care system in the greater Kansas City area.
Care Package Inbound's primary service is distributing "care packages" to youth entering the foster care system at no cost to them via social workers and local law enforcement. These care packages contain all the essentials a foster youth needs with new items such as a change of clothes, personal hygiene items, and a blanket, to get through the first 24 hours of transitioning into their new foster home.
Another primary service Care Package Inbound has is a foster clothing and hygiene closet to meet the needs of the foster youth after they settle into their new foster home. With this closet, we provide foster youth with new or gently used clothing and a wide variety of hygiene items at no charge to them.
We currently have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities which are posted on the Our Events page of our website: https://www.carepackageinbound.com/our-events
Our biggest need currently is having volunteers assist with sorting donations for our foster closet along with helping us run the pop up shop to host the foster closet. We will also have opportunities for packing care packages, sorting donation at the Just Between Friends Sale, and assisting with fundraising events.
