Gentiva Hospice is looking for Veterans, Active or Retired, who are able to volunteer a few hours of their time to show us how to properly fold an American Flag so we can give it to our patients who are veterans. It can just be one time or ongoing. Either way is appreciated. We do have a few patients who are Veterans facing life limiting illnesses and need someone to spend time with them as well. You will work directly with the patient to provide companionship, support and socialization as well as have the opportunity to participate in military pinning ceremonies. Our volunteers are an important part of the Hospice team and we provide ongoing training, education and support as well as specific training for Veterans. . We will work with your schedule. Gentiva Hospice is looking for Certified Therapy Dogs to visit our patients in their homes or in facilities. A friendly visit from a dog or a cat mean so much to our patients. Please consider if you have 2-3 hours a month to volunteer. Days and times are completely flexible. Thank you so much. You and your pet would bring so much joy to our patients! Positions are available in Monmouth, Union and Middlesex County.

Gentiva Hospice is looking for an administrative volunteer who would like to help out in our friendly Piscataway office. Lots of different activities-We welcome and encourage retirees, seniors, students or any young adult looking to gain experience as well as help their community. You can volunteer as few, or as many hours as you able able to give. No experience is necessary as we will happily train you. Gentiva Hospice is looking for volunteers who can provide companionship to our patients in Union or Middlesex County and surrounding area, such as conversation, art/coloring at the bedside, watching TV, playing cards, going for walks, even just quiet time. Our volunteers are such important part of the Hospice team and we provide ongoing training, education,events and support. We will work with your schedule, location and areas of interest. Gentiva Hospice is looking for a few kind compassionate people who have a few hours a month to volunteer their time with our patients who have life limiting illnesses. When you make a friendly visit, play a game, provide a calming presence, or even go for a short walk it makes such a difference in someone's life.
