We are looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join our Commitment to a Cure Gala Committee. Volunteer committee members partner with the Gala Chair and Arthritis Foundation staff to ensure that the event meets its financial and community engagement goals. Committee member's responsibilities may include: Attending regular committee meetings (meetings are virtual) Soliciting sponsorships and auction donations Assisting with marketing the event to local business, corporations and healthcare providers Sharing the mission of the Arthritis Foundation Help day of the event (November 6, 2024) The ideal people would be willing to commit several hours each month between now and the event which will be held in November. The Arthritis Foundation of Maryland’s Commitment to a Cure Gala raises awareness about the prevalence and seriousness of arthritis while raising critical funds to support our mission of conquering arthritis. Funds raised will be invested in research and advocacy efforts as well as education programs and support for the nearly 60 million Americans - adults and children - living with arthritis. The Gala brings together Maryland’s medical and business stakeholders, as well as patients and families, for an evening of fine dining, a brief awards program and auction all in the name of finding a cure for arthritis.

Leadership Board Overview The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control, and cure of arthritis related diseases. The mission is delivered through public health programs and services, advocacy efforts and investing in arthritis research. Members of the Leadership Board are pivotal in helping local adults and children with arthritis. Members of the Leadership Board are responsible for working collaboratively with staff to provide guidance and leadership on strategic direction of fundraising strategies and mission delivery. Local Leadership Board members support the Foundation’s mission and fundraising activities by opening doors to influence individuals, organizations, and community partners to support the organization and build awareness among the arthritis community. Represent the Arthritis Foundation at official functions in the community and through social media. Actively participate in at least one special event annually. Ensure the Arthritis Foundation fulfills its commitment to diverse volunteer leadership that reflects the communities served. Serve as an advocate. Attend a minimum of 75% of Local Leadership Board meetings (currently held virtually). QUALIFICATIONS Relevant professional experience and accomplishments in career and/or extensive personal experience and accomplishments within the arthritis community. Experience working in a volunteer leadership capacity and volunteering in the community. Commitment to and understanding of the mission and vision of the Arthritis Foundation. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and passion for improving the lives of people with arthritis. A natural affinity for cultivating relationships, working with diverse individuals, and influencing others.

The Arthritis Foundation of Maryland is looking for Jingle Bell Run Event Day Volunteers Event volunteers assist on event day (Saturday, December 14th) with things like set-up and clean-up of the Holiday Village, water stations, guest assistance and registration. Event volunteers work under the direction of staff and various members of the event committee who will provide instructions. Event day volunteers will typically be asked to commit at least 4 hours. Jingle Bell Run is the original festive race to support charity! Our participants dress up in fun, holiday attire, tie bells to their shoes and run to support the 60 million Americans living with arthritis. Together, we'll jingle all the way to a cure - and have a fantastic time with every step we take!

About the Jingle Bell Run The Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run is celebrated in nearly 60 communities nationwide, drawing nearly 30,000 attendees annually. The Jingle Bell Run unites patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, business leaders, community partners, and volunteers to raise critical funds to advance the Arthritis Foundation’s mission. 2024 Jingle Bell Run - Corporate Chair The Corporate Chair for the 2024 Jingle Bell Run in Baltimore, will lead the efforts to recruit more companies and business leaders to participate in the one of the largest Jingle Bell Runs on the east coast by organizing employee fundraising teams, becoming a corporate sponsor, and inviting customers and business partners to join us in the fight to conquer arthritis. Responsibilities: · Generate new revenue through: s ponsorship, n ew team development & p ersonal fundraising · Recruit corporate leadership volunteers to focus on new revenue · Conduct meetings or calls with revenue-focused volunteers monthly or as needed · Hold monthly progress meetings with Arthritis Foundation staff · Attend corporate partnership meetings with Foundation staff when necessary · Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the Foundation and the Jingle Bell Run · Attend the Jingle Bell Run on December 14, 2024 · Participate in post-event debrief meeting · Help secure Corporate Chair for the following year

Jingle Bell Run is the original festive race to support charity!
