Description
Our volunteer can make a difference in many ways to improve the life of patients who are facing a life-limiting illness. From direct contact with patients to providing clerical support, the volunteer are an important part of our hospice care team. At Amedisys, we offer comprehensive training and creative ideas. people helping people . that is what giving to hospice care is all about. As a Hospice volunteer and as an important part of our Hospice Care Team, you can help improve the quality of life of our Patients, as well as their family and caregivers.

I don't believe Amedisys really needs or wants direct care volunteers in Monroe County FL. I signed up last July. I have yet to receive an ID badge or make patient visits (bc of this). I am a retired licensed psychologist who did a great deal of volunteering w/Chapters Health and making patient visits prior to the company leaving the Florida Keys. Amedisys seems to simply want you to make phone calls with no coordination of care. There is a lack of adequate patient care management regarding volunteers in the Marathon, FL office. I wish I hadn't wasted all this time on-boarding. You may want to check with them and see if they truly need or want direct patient care volunteers in Monroe County FL.
