Mission Statement

The VFW is one of the most respected voices in government, from local level all the way to Washington D.C. We advocate for justice for our nation’s veterans, service members, and military families. We advocate for an array of issues and continue to be the voice for veterans everywhere. We regularly testify before Congress, meet with elected officials, and rally our national network of members and supporters to ensure lawmakers put veterans first. When those who have served their country, and those that support, them stand together, we cannot be ignored.

Description

Enumclaw Post 1949 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) was chartered in 1934. Since its establishment the VFW has played a very active role in the community. In addition to conducting post meetings, the facility has been the site for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other community gatherings. It is also the facility that allows us to fulfill our mission of "Honoring the dead by helping the living". Our post, although one of the smallest in the state, consistently ranks near the top of all state VFW posts in the amount of community service we provide. The VFW Post 1949 designed and built the local Purple Heart Monument. We take pride in managing this lovely park and want to continue our service to the community.
