Mission Statement
Driving positive change for the LGBTQ+ community in the Yakima Valley and Central Washington by educating, elevating, honoring, and celebrating through transformative cultural experiences, powerful advocacy, and a commitment to a brighter future.
Description
Yakima Pride, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to creating a vibrant and equitable community for LGBTQIA+ individuals across the Yakima Valley and Central Washington. We acknowledge and celebrate the diverse identities within our community, including the unique experiences of Black, Indigenous, and Latine/Latinx individuals.
Led by a dedicated all-volunteer board, we work to empower LGBTQIA+ lives through impactful education, strategic advocacy, and inclusive cultural experiences. We are committed to fostering a future where all LGBTQIA+ individuals, including those from historically marginalized backgrounds, are valued and respected.
We recognize the importance of intersectionality within the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to create spaces that honor and uplift all voices. The generous support of community donations, grants, and sponsorships allows us to sustain and expand our vital programs.
