Mission Statement

Above the Stigma is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization founded on the belief that everyone, regardless of background, race, or identity, can and should feel liberated to speak about their own mental health. Through advocacy, community engagement, and professional support, Above the Stigma is committed to empowering all individuals and communities to feel safe in talking about their mental health journey with pride, perseverance, and empathy.

Description

Above the Stigma is working to normalize the hard conversations and provide safe spaces for those that need it. We should never feel like we're alone when it comes to our mental health. We are aiming to provide "Safe Havens" and provide free/affordable solutions to our community. Our goal is to de-stigmatize mental health because no one should ever feel alone or ashamed for just needing a helping hand. We are a community of people who care about people.

Currently we are working on getting more on the San Diego community involved and actively advocating for mental health for all. Above the Stigma will be hosting meetings, discussions, "How are you REALLY feeling?" tables, events with proceeds going to help other organizations and developmental research that'll help make for a better future.
