Mission Statement
Annie’s Hope provides free, comprehensive support services to children, teens, and families who are grieving deaths. We are the only child-focused bereavement center in the region offering an array of programs designed for youth traumatized by the deaths of close friends and family members. Kids and adults disenfranchised by emotional pain in the aftermath of murders, suicides, accidents, and illnesses participate in small group activities that result in positive mental health outcomes.
Description
The bereaved are a vulnerable population susceptible to school and work failure, substance abuse, behavioral challenges, and suicide. Annie's Hope engages small groups of peers in age-based activities and language, guiding grieving people toward the discovery of their strengths, and empowering them to move forward and succeed. Our current array of free programs includes Family Support Groups, School-Based Support Groups, Camp Courage, Horizons anticipatory grief support for families facing imminent deaths, weekend Teen Retreats, a Speaker's Institute, Family Social Events, a Community Resource Library, Grief Referral Service, and an annual Hope & Healing Gathering
