Description

The City of Oxnard's Recreation Division began the "Meet-Up, Clean-Up" program in 2017 to engage the community in the beautification of our local parks. With the vision to build a strong tradition of Community involvement by recruiting residents in renovating and revitalizing city parks and neighborhoods to include benefits such as:

  • Increase community awareness of challenges related to resources and maintenance
  • Service learning opportunities for families
  • A greater sense of community ownership of city assets
  • Pride and accomplishment in the completed projects

"Meet up, Clean up" will provide opportunities for community stakeholders and residents to participate in community clean-up projects. Volunteers and staff will participate in activities focusing on one neighborhood at a time. Neighborhood activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Park renovations
  • Neighborhood clean up
  • Graffiti Removal
  • Town keeper beautification efforts
