Mission Statement

We are a mentor program based in Prince Georges County, Maryland. G.L.U.E is focused on inspiring young women to overcome and thrive through life's challenges by embracing change, promoting healthier relationships and life choices, encouraging personal development and self-love. Our mission is to help young women of all walks of life evolve in such a way that it's impossible to go back to who they used to be!

Description

Empowering the mentees to resolve current issues and to develop coping strategies for the future. Provide a model for a healthy, trusting relationship through clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries. Acknowledging their strengths, talents and gifts and encouraging them to find ways to use them. Be an active listener and offer support and encouragement when appropriate. Engage in activities outside of the home to help expose youth to new opportunities and experiences.
