Mission Statement

Summit was established in 1990 to provide One-On-One tutoring and mentoring program for Milwaukee's inner city children. Through tutoring, recreation, personal friendship, and a virtue based character program, Summit fosters relationships between dedicated mentors, parents, and their children in order to encourage intellectual, cultural, and moral growth. We are inspired by the social teachings of the Catholic Church which places primary importance on the dignity of each human being.

Programs complement the formal education system by "A.V.I.P" Strategy. Summit helps students develop Academic skills and character Virtues by means of Individual attention. Each student is matched with a trained volunteer in our after school tutoring and mentoring program. We conduct monthly seminars and meetings focused on empowering Parents to fulfill their important role as the primary educators of their children.

Description

Summit provides the perfect opportunity for using your time and talents to help inner-city youth achieve academic and personal growth in an environment of friendship and support. As a volunteer, you provide one-on-one attention and serve as a successful adult role model by helping a student with schoolwork and goal-setting.
We are looking for knowledgeable, compassionate and committed mentors who demonstrate positive attitude and genuine interest in the student being served.
