Mission Statement
The SUCCEED Program was designed in 2014 by educators and community leaders with experience teaching and tutoring youth in the community being served. With backgrounds in the fields of education, communication, science, and mental health, SUCCEED program leadership and key staff bring diverse perspectives for addressing student needs. An African (Tanzanian) proverb states "work the clay while it is still wet." As a founding principle, the SUCCEED program and Alluvium, Inc. promote the reshaping of young lives (working the wet clay) by going against harsh social elements.
To further improve student performance, program lessons, and activities, the SUCCEED Program centers strives to accomplish the following:
1)To improve attendance in school (youth school behavior and adjustment)
2)To improve reading fluency and comprehension skills (youth general academic functioning);
3)To improve math application and problem-solving skills though the integration of S.T.E.M activities/challenges (youth general academic functioning);
4)To improve behavior through service learning opportunities and character education (youth school behavior and adjustment);
5)To increase awareness of post-secondary education (parent/supervision skills and youth general academic functioning)
