Generation Prodigy (GP) is a non-profit organization committed to developing and supporting inner-city youth from low-income families to achieve the highest potential academically, socially and professionally. GP's mentoring program allows middle school and high school students to experience development through weekly group and/or individual mentoring sessions, annual GP Tours and GP Talk programs.
Mentors are caring volunteers of the GP Village, 21 years or older, who are willing to give of their time to talk with a student and assist the student in achieving personal, academic and career goals. Mentors may serve as a chaperone, friend and coach/guide. Mentors are not substitutes for a parent, counselor or social worker. The ideal mentor is employed, has college experience without a criminal history (preferred).
