Mission Statement

JUMP is a one-to-one mentoring program that facilitates one hour mentoring sessions between a member of the community and a Johnston student in grades 5-12 during the school day. Mentors act as positive role models who listen and help set goals while reinforcing basic skills, attitudes and other lessons in life. Mentors typically meet with their students one hour each week during the school day.

Description

Our mentors are community volunteers who have the ability to get to our school buildings for 1 class period a week. They come from businesses, civic organizations, and can also be stay-at-home parents or recent retirees. They are willing to be a listening ear and a place of support for students who need another adult in their corner.
