Mission Statement

This is a prevention Mentoring Program in its 44th year of operation. Serves boys and girls, ages 6-17 in Merrimack County, New Hampshire. 1:1 mentoring model with three component mentoring choices: community-based, site-based, and site-based plus. Children identified as in need are thoughtfully matched with volunteer mentors with the minimum expectation they will meet for a year's time. Mentor's contribute to successful outcomes in helping children do well at home, in school, and in the community.

Description

Mentors are enthusiastic people ages 16 and up who volunteer their time in a healthy 1:1 relationship with a youngster, based in mutual trust and respect, with oversight by an agency engaged in best practices in the mentoring field. Mentors are screened, trained, and supported throughout the mentorship.
