Mission Statement

The mission of The Mentoring Project of the Upper Valley is to encourage self-confidence and academic growth among adolescents by creating mutually beneficial, one-to-one mentoring relationships between them and responsible adult volunteers based on trust and respect.
Mentors and mentees are matched based on mutual interest and geographic location. Once matched with a commitment to spend at least five hours per month together, they engage in wholesome activities together, either initiated by the mentor or the mentee, but based on their mutual interests. The program provides some passes to area venues, such as nature centers, movie theaters, restaurants, etc.
Mentors, with support from the Program Coordinator, strive to build self-esteem and motivation in the mentee and can help set goals and work toward accomplishing them.

Description
