Mission Statement

In addition to its community-based program, Watershed Mentoring coordinates "Friends for Lunch" at St. Albans City School Friends for Lunch focuses on promoting attendance and school attachment in the lower grades through lunchtime mentoring. Prospective mentors complete an application with references. Following an interview, mentor applicants complete necessary screening before being trained. Mentors commit to one year of weekly meetings, but our goal is that most matches will continue for multiple years.

Mentors must be at least 18 and have completed high school or high school equivalency; be in school, working, or retired; have had experience with youth.
