Mission Statement

Through long-term mentoring relationships, Sisters Circle exposes at-risk girls to opportunities and experiences that empower them to define success for themselves, make intentional decisions about their future, and become self-sufficient young women. Sisters Circle offers a set of core programs and services, including after-school programming and activities; matching of middle and high school students with volunteer mentors; organizing cultural, educational and recreational events and trips; soliciting summer camp scholarships; linking students to enrichment opportunities, including academic programs, leadership training and internships; guiding the girls and their families throughout the challenging high school and college selection processes; and providing college and career guidance to graduates. In doing so, Sisters Circle support these emerging young women as they find their own path in life, both professionally and personally.

Description

Imagine the life-changing impact you could have on a young girl by serving as a consistent presence in her life. Unlike most one-to-one programs, My Sister's Circle's dedicated mentors make a long-term commitment to our students from seventh grade through high school and beyond. A combination of monthly group activities, enrichment opportunities and one-to-one time builds strong relationships and provides new and exciting experiences for both mentors and mentees.

You may apply to become a mentor any time throughout the year. Just complete the application at www.mysisterscircle.org and our MSC staff will contact you for an interview. Selected mentors are matched with a student typically during the summer after sixth grade. Our team will work with you to develop a meaningful relationship with a girl who needs your support.
