Mission Statement
We provide at-risk youth with positive adult role models from the community. Mentors commit to one year, seeing the child, at least, twice a month. These relationships are professionally supported throughout the life of the match. Mentors and children can do various activities which are of interest to them. We track the children through the program to determine how they are bonding with their mentor and if there have been, hopefully positive, changes in the child.
Description
Mentors should be, at least 18, years old. They need to have a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance. Mentors should have lived in the area, at least, three months. They must submit to a background check. Mentors participate in an in-person interview and provide the interviewer with the names of three references and any previous or current volunteer experience.
