Mission Statement

THRU Project matches youth 16 and over who are currently or have formerly been in foster care with a volunteer Advisor (mentor) to guide and support them as they learn to live independently from foster care. Many young men and women leave the foster care system with no permanent housing, little education, few job skills, and, most important, without a reliable adult to help them through this critical time. Just a few hours a month of your time and your life experience can make a tremendous impact on the life of former foster youth. Le

Must be 21 or over, submit to background checks, attend one training course and commit to one year with Youth. Volunteers agree to meet with Youth at least once per month, phone/message/text 2-3 times per month and compete a short survey each month.
