The Boone County Historical Society works diligently to preserve, explore, and understand the history of Boone County, Iowa, while educating and engaging Boone County residents and businesses in the discovery and appreciation of Boone County’s history.
We own, run and manage 4 different sites in the Boone County area: The Boone History Center, The Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace, The Kate Shelley Railroad Museum and The Hickory Grove Schoolhouse. We also serve Boone County by preserving the history of the area, providing educational outreach and events and serving the historical and educational needs of the Boone County area.
