Mission Statement

South LA Robotics is committed to providing high quality robotics instruction to LA area students of color who need on-going access, helping build the next generation of professionals in STEM.

Description

South LA Robotics is a community-based, year-round, competitive robotics club, here to give students the tools and confidence to delve into coding and robotics, and perhaps one day, pursue a career in STEM. SoLA Robotics began as a response to the lack of high quality, on-going, hands-on STEM/Robotics instruction available to students in South LA and Watts. Today SoLAR provides low cost and free programming for students in these communities.
To date, SoLA Robotics has brought 3 local teams to the winners circle at three high profile competitions, introduced "Robotics at Home" to over 250 students who now own robotics kits, served over 400 local students with coding and robotics instruction. and provided a platform for students to collaborate with peers around the world in robotics, coding and more.
