Description

The Lorton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Station 19, is one of 12 private, non-for-profit fire companies working in partnership with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, to provide emergency and non-emergency services to protect lives, property, and the environment across our community and the county. Our volunteer Firefighters, EMTs, and administrative personnel take pride in serving their friends and neighbors in the community. Our doors are always open to new volunteers. Since 1954 the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad has been a proud cornerstone of the Lorton community. We have been the home for hundreds of unpaid volunteers EMTs and firefighters who support our incredible 24/7 career staff and operate on our volunteer-owned fire and medical apparatus. Last year alone our station responded to over 5,000 calls in Lorton, Fairfax Station, Mason Neck, Gunston, Fort Belvoir, Springfield, and along I-95. These emergencies included fires, car accidents, natural disasters, hazardous materials emergencies, medical emergencies, and terrorist attacks, among many others.
