General Description: Join our Goshen Family Center team as a volunteer at our distributions throughout the year. Volunteers are essential to Family Services of Tulare County. This is an unpaid, part-time volunteer position. Commitment Required: Help at one distribution or help out on a regular basis. Length of commitment is flexible. Fill out our general liability form. Monthly Distributions: Food Distributions- Every 2nd Wednesday of the Month, 8am to 11:30am Diaper Distributions- Every 4th Wednesday of the Month, 8am to 11:30am Job duties and responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities vary depending on distribution, but could include: Setting up distribution, setting up tables, canopies, chairs, preparing food bags, unloading prior distribution food or diapers. Loading food bags/diapers into vehicles. Cleaning up after distribution. This includes moving tables, canopies, food bags, canned food, diaper boxes and picking up trash. Duties may vary as needs arise and/or change. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer at distributions. Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, lift and carry 30 pounds, and communicate clearly. Be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Must enjoy working with people and have a customer service mindset. Able to take direction from staff and lead volunteers. Have reliable transportation and means of communication (i.e. cell phone) Screening Requirements and Process: Ongoing volunteers must receive clearance from the Department of Justice Criminal Record Offender Information database. General Description: Volunteering at the Goshen Family Resource Center is a rewarding opportunity to actively contribute to the well-being of the Goshen community. As a volunteer/intern you will be the welcoming face of the center, offering assistance and support to walk-ins seeking resources and information. Additionally, volunteers take part in a hands-on approach by registering and distributing diapers and food to parents and families on a walk-in basis, addressing immediate needs with care and empathy. This direct involvement ensures that essential resources reach those who require support. Furthermore, volunteers will play a vital role in community engagement by assisting in the planning of events and contributing to the supportive environment fostered by the Goshen Family Resource Center. Commitment Required: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm It is helpful if volunteers can be flexible and occasionally adjust their shift hours to meet the needs of the clients or program. Duties and responsibilities: Office front desk assistant helping with walk-ins Register and disperse diapers to parents on a walk - in basis Register and disperse food to families on a walk - in basis Assist in planning events Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Strong communication skills (oral and written), active listening skills, critical thinking skills and a commitment to student success. Bi-lingual is helpful. General Description: Main functions of the Supportive Housing Case Manager Volunteer/Intern is to work closely with staff and clients to provide trauma informed support, crisis intervention, information and referrals for individuals seeking help within our different programs in Supportive Housing. Help in identifying goals clients may want to meet, teaching life skills, providing advocacy services for clients and their families. Volunteer/Intern will also help maintain client files and meet with client and case manager for case management. Volunteer/Intern will have the opportunity to assess clients and assist with needs. Volunteer/intern will help to answer phone calls and provide callbacks to clients who need further assistance. Commitment Required: * Minimum of 4 hours per week for a minimum of 6 month period for volunteers, Intern hours may vary due to school requirements. * Attend meetings and training sessions as scheduled * It is helpful if volunteers can be flexible and occasionally adjust their shift hours to meet the needs of the clients or case manager. Job duties and responsibilities: * Provide case management * Provide crisis intervention/support to clients. * Office support, answering phones, filing data, recording statistical data. * Work with staff to maintain client’s safety and encourage healing. * Must possess ability to understand and appreciate diversity, and to be sensitive to different experiences and lifestyles. * Perform all tasks in a safe manner to avoid injury to self and others. Duties may vary as needs arise and/or change. Qualifications: * Must be able to go to different locations to meet with staff and clients. * Good oral and written communication is very important, some computer skills are necessary for volunteering/Interning; some examples include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. * Minimum of 6 months experience of client services or case management, preferably in a social service or health-related agency. Bi-lingual is helpful.
