Our mission is to provide community services of fire protection and pre-hospital care for the residents of the greater Laurel area. The quality of service will be maintained with adherence and commitment to the principles of EDUCATION. RESPECT . TEAMWORK. SAFETY Prince George’s County volunteer firefighters/EMTs - Maryland fire stations are volunteer-based - We serve over 900,000 citizens and account for 75% of county’s Fire and EMS personnel - Our Company motto "Service for Others" emphasize on giving back to the community in greater Laurel area. Members should be dedicated, motivated and professional - You will feel a great inclusion and belonging from this small but lovely community

Description

We are looking for EMS/Fire Volunteers
and we provide free resources

Maryland Prince George’s County Provides training for Emergency Medical Technician/Responders and Firefighters Licensing (National Registry) to individuals interested in participating as a volunteer or even gateway to career first responders (EMT/FF Academy is a stipend training)

Requirements and anticipations:
  • No previous experiences required
  • Must pass physical examination (includes a 12-minute treadmill test)
  • Drug screening and background check
  • 16~17-year-olds to complete and sign juvenile court paperwork (provided)
  • For current high school students, grade average should be "C" or higher
  • Must actively participate with fire station events and/or staffing
  • Your responsibility: background checks, complete physical examinations, application processes, required classes, and help with staffing

Started volunteering in 2018. I now spend 3-4 days a week at the station. It is super fun. Great people to work with and learn from in emergency medicine.
